Manda Bay is a small boutique lodge located on the north western tip of Manda Island, one of the many unspoiled, idyllic islands of the Lamu archipelago. An exclusive resort, Manda Bay offers barefoot luxury and informal pampering.
All the buildings are constructed with local materials in traditional coastal style, with palm thatch roofs and woven matting covering the floors. The cottages overlook the Indian Ocean and are carefully sited to catch the sea breeze. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with double or twin beds, large flowing mosquito nets, private verandahs, overhead fans and a small fridge to keep your drinks cool. A large lounge and bar area on the waterfront, with breezes flowing through, is the ideal retreat in the heat of the afternoon. Darts, table tennis and a pool table in the games room offer alternative entertainment, and the games room encompasses a swimming pool overlooking the creek. There is an air conditioned boutique and a quiet upstairs sitting room. Manda Bay creates delicious gourmet cuisine, using the freshest ingredients possible including a large variety of hand-selected seafood.
