The 60 room Ark lodge has been part of the Aberdare experience, allowing visitors a privileged opportunity to experience Africa at first hand. Built as a modern-day Noah’s Ark, overlookings a salt lick waterhole, a natural magnet for the local wildlife for whom it is a valuable source of water and minerals. .(The Other lodge inside the Park is the The Treetops Lodge while Several KWS self catering Bandas offers visitors altenative accommodations).

Game drives within the park are limited and game viewing is within the vicinity of the lodge which has several viewing points overlooking a natural waterhole.The lodge has no meeting or conference facilities but instead these are offered at their sister hotel The Aberdare Country Club near Mweiga Township

The Ark offers a unique memorable viewing and learning experience never to be forgotten. The Lodge is designed with 'decks' from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you closer than you would believe possible to the wildlife.

Getting To The Ark Lodge

The Ark is reached via the Aberdare country club which is a 40 minutes drive, 16km from Mweiga airfield and 2 hours from Nanyuki airstrip. Nairobi is 170 km away from the Ark Hotel.
